As far as we know, no published study has directly measured how much enzyme activity survives a drink mix versus a capsule, head to head. What has been measured — thoroughly — is everything above: how fast liquids and solids leave the stomach, what a glass of water does to stomach acidity, how strong pepsin is at each pH, and how nattokinase holds up in acid over time. That's a strong case built on real numbers, but it's a case about exposure, not a survival percentage. If you ever see a brand quote a precise survival number without published data behind it, be skeptical.
And to be completely clear: capsules aren't useless. Clinical research on orally taken nattokinase shows measurable activity in the body (Kurosawa et al., 2015) — the enzyme clearly can make it through.
