EDUCATION

The Truth About Heart Disease

Heart disease can often start with endothelial damage—the breakdown of the thin lining inside our blood vessels. This damage can often be driven by metabolic dysfunction, oxidative stress, and chronic inflammation from poor diets, sedentary habits, environmental factors and more.*

Toku Flow supports a healthy endothelial lining by promoting clear, efficient blood flow—delivering vital nutrients to your heart and organs, and helping your body remove metabolic waste for sustained vitality.*

EDUCATION

Breaking Down The Blood Clot

Nattokinase is an enzyme derived from natto, a fermented soybean dish, which has been a staple in Japan for over a thousand years.

While cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in most developed nations, Japan and South Korea stand out with lower rates. Their diets, rich in fermented foods like natto and kimchi, may contribute to better heart health by improving blood flow and reducing clot formation.

Discovered in the 1980s by Dr. Hiroyuki Sumi for its potent ability to break down blood clots, it works by targeting fibrin—the key protein involved in clot formation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why not just take nattokinase?

While nattokinase itself has amazing benefits, many nattokinase supplements are underdosed, requiring you to take up to five servings (or even more) to reach clinically relevant levels. With Toku Flow, you're getting a full clinically relevant dose in one convenient serving, making it far more cost-effective compared to leading brands.

Additionally, we've included Vitamin K2 in its most effective form of MK-7, which has proven clinical synergy with nattokinase for enhanced cardiovascular support and organic oat bran rich in beta-glucan, known to improve enzyme absorption and help regulate blood glucose.

We also avoid undisclosed fillers, a widespread issue in the market, by using our proprietary freeze-drying process to isolate the enzyme cleanly and effectively.

And lastly, each of our servings is individually wrapped to maintain the highest possible potency right until consumption, ensuring you're always getting optimal freshness and efficacy.

How is Toku soy free?

Traditional nattokinase is indeed extracted from natto, which is fermented soybeans. However, the active enzyme itself (nattokinase) can also be produced through fermentation using other legumes. At Toku, we use a specialized fermentation process with chickpeas instead of soybeans, allowing us to deliver pure, soy-free nattokinase. This provides all the cardiovascular benefits without the potential allergenicity of soy.

Can’t I just eat natto?

You absolutely can! We highly recommend eating a whole-food diet as your primary strategy in preventing heart disease. We created Toku Flow as a delicious, easy-to-use supplement to complement and enhance your health journey. The average serving of natto contains around 1,400–2,000 FU of nattokinase, while Toku Flow provides 10,800 FU per serving, ensuring you achieve a clinically relevant dose and experience even greater benefits alongside your dietary choices.

Why Vitamin K2 MK-7?

Vitamin K2 MK-7 (menaquinone-7) is a highly bioavailable form of vitamin K2, naturally found in fermented foods like natto. It’s especially important for heart health because it plays a critical role in calcium metabolism, helping direct calcium to the bones and teeth rather than allowing it to build up in arteries and soft tissues. Clinical studies have shown that regular intake of Vitamin K2 MK-7 supports arterial flexibility, reduces arterial stiffness, and promotes overall cardiovascular health. By pairing Vitamin K2 MK-7 with nattokinase in Toku Flow, we enhance the cardiovascular benefits, providing synergistic support for a healthier heart.

Why Oat Beta-Glucan?

Organic oat bran is the outer layer of whole oat grains, which is naturally rich in dietary fiber, particularly beta-glucan. Beta-glucan is a type of soluble fiber well-known for its heart health benefits. Clinical studies have shown that beta-glucan helps reduce cholesterol levels by binding to cholesterol in the digestive system, facilitating its elimination from the body. It also assists in stabilizing blood sugar levels by slowing glucose absorption, which supports metabolic health. In Toku Flow, we include organic oat bran because beta-glucan not only enhances the absorption of our nattokinase enzyme but also provides these significant cardiovascular and metabolic health benefits, offering comprehensive support for overall heart health.

Can I take Toku Flow alongside prescription medications or other supplements?

Generally, yes, but always consult with your healthcare provider, especially if you're on blood thinning medications or have existing health concerns.

Peace of mind in a scoop.

Delicious drink for heart health.

My entire life I have had issues with triglycerides and recently received a pretty bad CAC score.. I've previously adjusted my diet, added K2 MK7, and D3. I've been looking for years for a higher FU serving size Nattokinase supplement and feel lucky this one was released recently.
Obviously this will take time, I'm hopeful the addition of Toku Flow with my other dietary and lifestyle changes will have a beneficial impact.

Great product - a little too sweet?

I have long been a believer in the value of nattokinase. I have had liquid and capsule natto supplements and taken for many years. This product provides a more substantial amount more bioavailability and much more pleasant. For my taste it is a bit too sweet and I'd be happier with no stevia, just the monk fruit for sweetener. I mix it with coffee and cream and the cream suppresses the sweetness sufficiently to make it a very pleasant drink. I'd like more information about how much nattokinase per day is the best amount and I will keep doing my own research but plan to substitute this Toku product for the capsules I had been taking regularly that provided 4000 fu/200 mg compared to this at 10,800fu 580 mg. I have been curious about why garbanzo beans rather than soy as the source of the enzyme - my reading suggests that that doesn't matter and indeed that this is probably better as a way of avoiding soy allergies and the soy/thyroid interaction issue. Great product and will recommend it to all my friends.

HRV trending upward

Didn’t like the sweet taste at first as I’m used to drinking black coffee. I drink it after a coffee and that seems to go better and now I love the taste. Started it as I got a CAC score that wasn’t great. I’m a runner and wear an Oura ring and my HRV is trending upwards since I’ve been taking the Toku for a month. Resting heart rate is lower. Could be a coincidence but I’ll take it.
